The Noble Blades re-founded our Company Membership in 2024 with the goal to better provide skilled and experience practitioners of stage combat to the community. If you’d like to be a part of it, apply below!
Apprentice Member
The purpose and job of the Apprentice Member is to learn. This role puts them right in the middle of the company, working with and around other members and the culture that the Noble Blades creates, ultimately with the goal to become adept enough in this skill to be a competent performer and assistant, and as such a full Company Member.
Apprentice Members must meet the following criteria:
Must be a minimum of 16 years old.
Must have attended at least FOUR (4) Noble Blades workshops or classes in the past 2 seasons.
Must be approved by the Company Manager and Managing Director
The following is required for Apprentice Members to maintain status:
Must attend at least FOUR (4) Noble Blades Classes per season/fiscal year.
Must renew membership annually with the Company Manager.
Apprentice Members will receive the following benefits:
Member Exclusive free professional development provided once per season.
Four (4) 50% off Single Day Class
One (1) 25% off Skills Proficiency Classes
Annual Social Event
Company Member
The Company Member is the main membership body of the Noble Blades. Members are those who have displayed a competent working knowledge of stage combat and are self-reliant in continuing their training and research. Company members will be the chief resource of the company when casting performances, demonstrations, or for Asst. Instructors.
Company Members must meet the following criteria:
Must be a minimum of 18 years old.
Must have been an Apprentice Member in good standing for a minimum of 1 year.
Must be approved by Existing Company Membership by a two-thirds majority.
The following is required for Company Members to maintain status:
Must attend at least TWO (2) Noble Blades Classes per season/fiscal year.
Must volunteer at TWO (2) Noble Blades events per year.
Must renew membership annually with the Company Manager.
Company Members will receive the following benefits:
Member Exclusive free professional development provided once per season.
Two (2) 25% off Single Day Class
15% off SPT classes, matching the SAFD membership discount
Annual Social Event
Senior Member
Senior Members are those who have proved themselves not only adept at various principles and techniques of stage combat, but also trustworthy to represent the Noble Blades on their own. Senior Members may be sent as representatives of the Noble Blades (as workshop instructors, fight choreographers, etc.) without supervision.
They must meet the following criteria:
Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
Must have been a Company Member in good standing for a minimum of 1 year
Must have assisted a current Senior Member
Must have taught a class for the Noble Blades in the last 2 seasons/fiscal years.
Membership must be voted on and approved by the Board of Directors.
Votes will be confidential and a candidate will not be privy to the votes, only the Pass/Fail result.
Feedback will be available upon request.
The following is required for Senior Members to maintain status:
Must maintain an active body of work and continuing education.
Must have involvement in FOUR (4) Noble Blades events per season/fiscal year.
Must renew membership with the Board annually.
Senior Members will receive the following benefits:
Member Exclusive free professional development provided once per season.
Annual Senior Member meeting for company and business updates.
Two (2) 50% off Single Day Classes.
Annual Social Event
Membership with the Noble Blades is at the discretion of the Board of Directors. Additionally, the Board of Directors may, by majority vote, offer membership to those they deem fit on a case by case basis. Holding a position on the Board of Directors, voted or ex-officio, does not automatically confer company membership of any kind.
