Taught by Casey Kaleba

Although the smallsword is often associated with poise, decorum, elegance, and honor, the weapon is an efficient killing machine and duels involved snapped blades, multiple wounds, and a question not of who won but of who survived. This class will rough up the edges of smallsword technique and dig into the more athletic, more dangerous side of the weapon.

Class Level: Intermediate

at the Reston Players’ Lindsay C. Petersen Rehearsal Hall
264 Sunset Park Drive, Herndon, Va 20170

Casey Kaleba has staged fights for nearly six hundred musical theatre, opera, and theatre productions including the Folger Theatre, Round House Theatre, Washington National Opera, Glimmerglass Festival, Olney Theatre Center, Signature Theatre, Guthrie Theatre, Wolf Trap Opera, Spoleto Festival, Rorschach Theatre, and Northern Stage.  A Certified Teacher and Fight Director with the Society of American Fight Directors, he has been a guest instructor for the Nordic Stagefight Society, Fight Directors Canada, and the Paddy Crean Workshop.  Casey worked as an audition choreographer for Marvel Universe Live, smashed things on the YouTube show Men At Arms: Reforged, and he holds a doctorate in Theatre History.  www.toothandclawcombat.com
